Dr. Harvey King's daughter, Sarah Harvey King, married William Edgar Torbert, Edgar's great grandfather in 1883. Sarah was only 6 months old when her father died. His pocket watch was her lifelong treasure. It is unknown how Dr. King (1817-1856) came into possession of the watch as he was only 13-14 years old during the brief life span of the New York watch company, Hulse Tracy & Co. (1830-31). His father, William King, died in 1850, so it is possible he inherited the watch from his father 5-6 years before his own death, but with 19 siblings that may not be the case!
