Let It Be Christmas!
Vintage chalkware Santa piggy bank on hearth was a gift from Edgar's great aunt and uncle, Margaret Johns Parr and Albert Parr of New Orleans, circa 1956. Online references say this collectible was a popular carnival and midway prize in the early 1950s

Edgar and Julia's stockings were made by Edgar's mother, Virginia Walton Torbert, and Sam's blue stocking by Edgar's cousin, Pat Tuberville Strickland

Damaged, but still working, Seth Thomas clock on mantel was a wedding present for Edgar's grandparents, Edgar and Lucile Johns Torbert, in 1918 during the Spanish Flu pandemic

"Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse"
December 21, 2020 was a spectacular evening with a beautiful quarter moon and the "Christmas Star", the first 1/10 of one degree conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at night in 800 years, both shot with Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L II lens (note several barely visible moons of Jupiter on a diagonal through the planet; roll your mouse over photo to see same planets farther apart the following night)
